Overview
Imrooz acquired the Pakistan interest of a 100-year-old Liverpool based company, G. Atherton and Co, which had offices in India and Pakistan. To merge both operations, a new company, Atherton &Imrooz was created in 1961, initially focusing on representing quality UK based pigment and dye manufacturers.
In 1972, Imrooz Industrial Raw Materials (IRM) expanded into purchasing, importing, warehousing and distribution of raw materials.
Today, Imrooz’s IRM companies are a trusted name supplying quality raw materials to a number of industrial sectors in Pakistan, which include Paints and Coatings, Personal Care and Household, Food, Pharmaceutical, Paper, Leather, Textile, Agro Pesticides, Construction, Fishing etc.
Imrooz IRM is unique in a number of ways. It provides a one-window operation, for a number of industries, supplying a basket of goods to cater to that particular industry’s needs. It also works with multinationals and local companies on a long term basis, importing and storing materials for them, and delivering on a ‘just-in-time’ basis, where the customer requires such deliveries.
Through a combination of ex-stock and indenting, Imrooz IRM can work out convenient and efficient material requirement ‘packages’ for industries, which are tailored to that particular industry’s working capital availability, import tariff structures, warehousing capabilities, delivery size requirements etc.
Imrooz IRM maintains and constantly updates a comprehensive database, with its own analysis of import statistics, principal competition, market assessment and analysis etc.
